This picture was shot in Fort Santana, a fort strategically located in a strait beetween Florianopolis island and the continent. As you see, it´s very close to the end of the bridge in the island side. It was built 1763 to protect anchorage of the ancient village, a passage between the north and the south bay of the island. As an annex to this fort there is the Military Museum Major Antônio de Lara Ribas of Santa Catarina´s Police.

Como se pode ver, está bem próxima da cabeceira da ponte no lado ilhéu. Foi construído em 1763 para defender o ancoradouro da antiga vila, uma passagem entre a baía norte e sul da ilha.
